Friday, Feb. 27- HOME!

Goodbye Fairfax Hospital! Abby was released this morning and we are home!!! She ate well (or at least well enough) she's healthy and happy so the cardiologist signed our ticket out! Our roommates for the past few days had left this morning for surgery - then they would be in the PICU - and a new roommate had just come in... they spoke only Spanish and it was beginning to feel like dejavu all over again. We packed our things, said goodbye to our friends and RAN before they could change their minds! We're planning a restful, quiet afternoon and weekend at home - because next week brings a bunch of follow-up appointments with her doctors.

Linzy and Chris,

I'm so happy for you! Now you can start to be a family again instead of feeling like you're a permanent part of the hospital. You'll probably have a little separation anxiety yourselves! Enjoy some fresh air this weekend and especially enjoy having Abby back in her own crib and home!

Praise the Lord for answered prayers!! As the kids would say...yes, yes, yes Abby is home. The pictures are priceless, you guys are so darn cleaver. Enjoy tonight in your own beds and waking up and just chilling in your jams and taking it nice and slow this week end. Now Abby that does not mean you are to take your bottle nice and slow, pack on the pounds girlfriend and show them who is boss.
Love, kisses and congrats on getting home,
Peggy & gang

Linzy and Chris,
I just finished reading your entire blog beginning with pregnancy...Thank you so much for sharing it with me! So much of your hospital experience brought back memories of Owen's surgery (we were there a year ago today - for three weeks!) Abby endured so much more than Owen did after surgery...and I am so impressed with your strength as parents to have gotten through it with such grace and humor too! I loved seeing Abby's progress in the pics...it truly is amazing how strong babies are!! I can't wait to read more....I wish you guys much peace these next few weeks, as you settle back into a normal routine!! My thoughts and prayers are with you all!
