California (and Nevada) Girls (and boys)!

We are back from our cross-country adventure - and we needed to get blogging about it before we leave on our next trip!  Mom, Dad, Abby, Auntie Em and I flew across the country from Washington, DC to San Francisco, CA!  We went to visit Grandpa, Tutu, Uncle Mark and Aunt Amy; and we went with them to Lake Tahoe!

We spent a day at their house and went to this cool playground.  Not sure if anyone ever tested this slide before... I'm pretty sure it doesn't meet regulation speed.

 Thanks, Mom!

After we got the hang of the super-speedy slide I had a lot more fun with it!

So then we were off to Lake Tahoe.  We stayed at a really nice resort - this was the view from our window.  It's Carson Valley, NV.

Let this be a lesson to all.  Never judge a resort by the chandeliers hanging in the condos.  This classy antler number was hanging in ours.  If you look closely you can see the extra antler hanging down on a chain from the light fixture.
There was A LOT to do there.  Hiking was a bit tough for me in these boots - so I skipped that.

But I did thoroughly enjoy some video gaming.

And some golfing.  My dad gets to charge a lot for lessons these days - but he gives them to me for free.  He says there's a lot of college scholarship money out there for women golfers.  Oh, the pressure...
I don't care to over exert myself on vacation - so I chose to skip all those crazy activities and just hang with Grandpa.

We're going to work with Uncle Mark on how to make a woman look flattered and beautiful in a picture.  This ain't it.
A six pack sampler.  A little bit of something for everyone.

Like I said.  I don't care to over exert myself on vacation.  Especially not vacation in some wacky time zone.
I don't enjoy getting in the pool.  But lounging poolside with Mom was exactly my style!
And laying out at the beach.  If you had cheeks like these to hold up every day you'd opt to lay down a lot too!

Aunt Amy and I discuss the deeper points of life.

Aunt Amy, Mom, Uncle Mark and Aunt Emily laying on the beach after Abby and I had to go home for naps.  No wonder they were so bored they just laid there...

As you can see, there's still snow on the mountains behind the lake.  And that's where the lake gets all it's water from.  So the water was COLD.  Like, 60 degrees COLD.  So Mom wanted proof posted that she and Auntie Em got in.  Aunt Amy was brave - she got in all the time.  Mom and Em had to "think" about it... for a few days.

As usual:  I have all the boys doing exactly what I want.

Yeah, still not exerting myself.  Just hanging out with Tutu.  It's vacation after all.

This was a great idea in theory.  Bury her and contain her for 32 seconds.  But her dang flexibility gets in the way EVERY time!

This was a much better idea.

"I demand to know where the credit cards are!"

I copied everything Amy did.

Ugh, seriously Abby?  How often do they make us do this??
Just you wait, Hayley, just you wait.

One night we caught the sunset at the perfect time.  Think Abby's a Daddy's girl??

Since it seems like Daddy has been claimed, I'm going to stick with Mom.

Grandpa, Uncle Mark, Aunt Amy and Tutu

Mom and Em.  Doesn't the lack of humidity do wonders for their hair?!

Hayley and I chose not to participate in looking cute for the camera - so Mom and Dad turned us around!

It was a FANTASTIC vacation - Dad and I had to sleep a lot on the plane.  Which was nice, as it passed the time a lot faster.  Hayley and I were perfect on the plane - and perfection for 5+ hours - BOTH WAYS-  is a LOT to ask.

So next, we're off to Michigan.  12 hour car ride.  Hmmm.....
