My May

Wow, I have been a major blog slacker lately! Apologies. This has been a very busy month for me!

I have learned lots of new tricks this month! As you can see - I've added new foods to my repertoire. Peaches, pears, bananas and applesauce... all mixed in to oatmeal cereal. We did away with that rice cereal garbage. The first trick I learned is how to raspberry. At first when I learned it I would just do it while talking. I'd sing... then raspberry, sing and talk, then raspberry. It cracked everyone up! But now I've realized that it's the perfect trick to do with a mouth full of food! It launches my food across the room - which Callie appreciates. She and I are tight now.
After I eat half my dinner out of my bowl, and I eat the other half off my bib. I generally like to stick some of it in my hair too.

The next new trick I learned is that I have feet! Who knew there were toys attached to my body?? I found them this month, and now I love to grab them and play with them. Not exactly the most lady-like thing - now that I look at it from this angle... but it's making my physical therapist very proud. 3 weeks ago I got off the wait list for physical therapy - so now twice a month Erin comes to play with me and teach me new tricks. She gives me things to work on, and then Mom, Dad and Aida work me out until she comes back.

And my next trick: I can roll over! I have from my tummy to my back mastered - but now I'm working on from back to tummy. I'm pretty fast at it now - so it's hard to catch on camera - but here I go...

(At this point, I'm moving a little faster than I usually like - and I'm generally a bit disoriented)

Oh - here we go - all done. No more of that annoying tummy time. That's the best part - Mom and Dad put me on my tummy, I take myself off. I should have learned this trick months ago...

Another big thing from May is I got baptized! I was baptized on Mother's Day - and a lot of my family came for the big day.

My Great-Grandma Howe came to meet me. She thought I was pretty great. Here I am sizing her up. I'd heard she fed my mom ice cream when she was 8 months old (much to my grandma's dismay) so I was hoping for similar treatment (it's GOT to be better than the rice garbage)... but to no avail.

Here's my family at the church when I was baptized. I'm a pretty big deal! Are you surprised so many people turned out?

We took our first trip to the wilderness for Memorial Day Weekend. We went to my friends Christina and Adam's cabin in the mountains in West Virginia. It was my first trip to the mountains. I loved it - but Callie REALLY loves it. She's been there before. She can run without her leash and chase deer on acres and acres of land. The upside for me is that Callie's been asleep since we got back.

There's something fun for everyone at the cabin. Mom, Christina, Callie and I went for a walk. Mom kept complaining that I weigh 13 1/2 pounds and walking around up and down a mountain with me attached to her front was a bit of a challenge.

I don't know what she was talking about.

This is what Dad and Adam do while we walk. They shoot clay pigeons and drive the 4-wheeler. I don't know - it's guy stuff. Look what a great hunting dog Callie would make... facing the wrong way... jeez.

Christina and I got caught up on a lot of news and stories. I had lots of things to tell her.

Adam and I played with my toys. His toys are guns and clay pigeons - so I can see why he likes mine which squeak and crinkle and are by far more fun.

The cabin is the perfect place to curl up with a good book.

When we got back from that weekend - I was so tired I fell asleep in the bathtub!

Now that I've found my feet - I need to sleep with them nearby. I don't want them to disappear on me again!

Abby, you are so adorable. Feet ARE very interesting. Baby John likes to try to eat his while in his highchair (you, know, when the squash gets boring).

what a great surprise to surf your blog and find a new post! You have grown up so much. I like all of your tricks. Keep up the good work! Maybe you might like to visit Lake Chautauqua sometime this summer and have your own personal therapist!

That first picture is my favorite ever! You also look so pretty in your baptism dress. Now that you've added some fruit you may want to try some prunes... they're Baby Caroline's favorite but definitely not so fun for mom and dad.

She is just gorgeous and too cute for words! We just cannot wait to meet her and for our baby girls to finally have a playdate. I love the blog, Linzy! Great job!

So much to say! I love that first picture. Those blue eyes are gorgeous. I'm glad Abby is enjoying new foods. Ashley actually liked prunes (eww, huh?) if you feel brave enough to try those.

Also, the Bjorn is awesome for the first six months or so, but when they get heavier, there are some great back-carry baby carriers that I can recommend. It really takes the weight off your lower back.

She is awesome. I love the pictures!
