Lucky for Dora - my new "coiffure" looks pretty darn good. And she gave us a little envelope with my hair in it. I'm either going to have mom put it in my scrapbook - or I'm thinking of auctioning it off to my baby friends who don't have quite as much hair as I do. Perhaps some of Daddy's friends would also be interested. Hmmmmm.......

First Haircut
Last week we took a "Mom's not working - we may as well travel" trip to see Grandma and Grandpa Howe in Connecticut... or so we told them. Really - we were motivated to travel for the sidewalk sales on the Rodeo Drive of Connecticut - Greenwich Avenue. (Resulting in quite a few new wonderful outfits for me, the Princess.) While we were there - between shopping trips - Mom took me to meet our family friend Dora. Dora has been cutting our family's hair for years and years. Dora admired me for a while - and then thought that perhaps I needed "just a little taken off the back" so my lovely locks could continue to grow well. I'm told that it was perhaps starting to look a tad like a "rat tail" or perhaps even a "mullet" - neither of which are in the style a princess approves of.
At first, I was pretty into the towel they gave me to chew on. I thought this haircut thing would be pretty great.
I sat very still because I take my long, luscious locks very seriously. I don't need a disaster back there.
"Are you kidding me, Dora?! I said just a little off the back! I hope you're not taking any liberties back there!"
"Ohhh no, ohhhh no! This was a terrible idea Mom - rein this lady in!"

My First Big Vacation - 4th of July
I got to spend some time with my Grandpa Nathlich. The only other time I'd met him was right after my surgery when he came to visit. I was by far more social this time. I got to meet Tutu, Uncle Mark and Aunt Amy too. We had lots of fun going to the beach, playing, reading books and taking walks.
It got warmer as the week went on. We went for walks in beautiful fields of wild flowers.
At the end of the week, we moved to another part of Lake Tahoe and went to my mom's family reunion. Grandma and Grandpa Howe were there - so were Uncle Charley and Uncle Alex. There were LOTS of other people there too... 50 new fans of Abby. Here's Uncle Alex and me sticking our tongues out. We did that when I was a little baby too. As usual - Grandpa had his camera - so mom didn't take many pictures. You can see Grandpa's on his website - http://www.craighowe.com/
I saw my cardiologist today - a little early because we thought part of my scar might be a little infected - but it wasn't. She checked me out while we were there and says my heart sounds wonderful. She didn't hear my valve leaking at all - and she was SO impressed with how big I am. She says I look like a different baby. As she was going on and on about how good I look - I rolled over on her table for her. Talk about impressive. She's a huge fan of Abby.
I hope you're having a great summer too!
